CANDY-MAN

Once they call my name in jest,
Twice they call and fear no less,
Three times they call to make me hear,
Then twice more and gently I whisper into fearful ear,

"Come with me for sweet honey you will taste,
Come with me and let us not this bounty waste,
Come with me and a legend carve,
In your flesh and bloody garb,"

"In you I've found a stop in my eternal search,
And at its edge does your life now perch,
With blood and blade you legend set free,
Allow for you my victim be,"

Sick to the ears with the buzz of bees,
They run and hide but I find them with ease,
On whispering winds they hear me croon,
"Run far, run fast, let our legend bloom... You'll be my victim all too soon."

Red Hued their world painting with blood blooming lush,
They falter and fall, a relentless thrust,
Of hook and of blade finally the legend virulent inter,
"So say a fond fare well to the flesh, Ya Hear!"
Candyman has always been one of the more interesting horrors I've ever watched. There is just something innately sensual about the way the apparition what is the Candyman begs and pleads with his victim to be.

To me that one small detail always managed to give the movie more dramatic tension than just people running around from one thing or another. It gave the monster more personality than any 100 other horror flicks out there.

'Be my victim...
spread our legend...
Live forever in our infamy!
All you need to do...
is lay down and die for me.'
